Radiology.com creates Internet-based PACS

Radiology.com has launched its first image-management product. The Chantilly, VA-based company’s ImageBank and PatientExpress use a PC-based application service provider model to provide image management and archiving services to customers that may not be able to afford traditional PACS equipment, including smaller hospitals, imaging centers, independent radiologists, and even patients. Both patent-pending products use Java encryption and proprietary encryption technology and access a central, Web-based repository where digital images are permanently stored.
