The executive committee of the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee voted unanimously April 16 to endorse a diagnostic imaging panel's earlier recommendation not to cover PET for Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment. The coverage and analysis group of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services should make a final decision within 60 days.
