Following approval by the Chinese State Drug Administration, Pharmagenesis has begun selling a liver-specific MRI agent in China. The agent, Feridex, was developed by Advanced Magnetics. About 240 million people in China are carriers of the hepatitis B virus, a leading cause of hepatoma, which is one of the 10 most frequently occurring cancers in China.
