Starting April 18, physicians and hospitals that have taken steps to become meaningful users of electronic health records can start proving they’ve met the criteria. This attestation period allows users to then qualify for the EHR incentive payments under Medicare.
Physicians must meet these meaningful-use criteria for 90 consecutive days to cash in on the incentives.
More than 90 percent of radiologists are considered eligible professionals for the meaningful use program, so they could receive up to $44,000 over five years for implementing and using the technology.
Is your practice planning to attest to being meaningful users of an EHR?
