The Oncology Care Systems division of Siemens Medical Systemshas received Food and Drug Administration clearance to resumeshipping and manufacturing in the U.S., the vendor reported lastweek. Siemens halted domestic shipments from the Concord, CA,facility last year after FDA audits uncovered problems in manufacturingprocesses at the plant (SCAN 10/12/94).
Siemens received FDA approval on Nov. 2 to resume U.S. shipping,and got the agency's go-ahead in October to manufacture for U.S.customers. The facility has been shipping and manufacturing forinternational customers since March, the company reported. Theplant makes radiation oncology treatment and verification products.
