A proposed merger between connectivity developer Star Technologiesand electronics firm Electronic Instrumentation and Technology(EIT) fell through last month after the companies could not agreeon financial terms of the deal. Star, of Sterling, VA, said itwould continue to look for mergers or acquisitions as part ofits strategy to rebuild its revenue base.

Star and EIT, also of Sterling, announced the merger deal inAugust (SCAN 9/11/96). The deal would have given Star a revenuestream to replace sales lost when a deal to supply CT reconstructionprocessors to GE Medical Systems broke down.
