Digital radiography developer Swissray International has sold 45 of its ddR Multi-Systems since its new fiscal year began July 1. The company estimates that orders for these first four months of fiscal 1999 represent a 460% increase over all of fiscal 1998. The company attributed the bulk of the sales to a $13 million contract signed in October with the Romanian Ministry of Health for 32 units, as well as a distribution and service agreement with Hitachi Medical Systems America (SCAN 10/27/99 and 9/1/99). Swissray also sold four units in the U.S. last month, three to hospitals in the Department of Veterans Affairs network, and one to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.
