TeraRecon’s “iNtuition Cloud” debuted as a commercially available product May 18 at the ISCT symposium. The newly available system is the company’s flagship iNutition solution in “Software as a Service” form.
The company framed the scalable iNtuition platform as ideally suited to cloud computing, bolstered by newly developed technology that ensures the secure upload of imaging data. All iNtuition applications are accessible through a web browser with SSL security and the AquariusWEB zero-footprint web viewer. Registered users are granted a unique, secure account login, to which they can upload DICOM data using TeraRecon’s secure upload portal. This triggers advanced preprocessing by the AquariusAPS server in the cloud to prepare the data for interpretation and review using TeraRecon’s workflow templates.
As soon as the data set is uploaded, it can be securely opened for review in any compatible web browser, from any computer with an appropriate Internet connection, in the full-featured iNtuition software. The case can then be interpreted via a customizable workflow template, driven by the AquariusAPS automation, which precalculates centerlines, applies image filters (such as optimizations for low-dose scanning), removes bones, and performs other such tasks, including identification of anatomical landmarks. Representative views can then be saved in a single workflow scene, which can be opened securely online in the AquariusWEB software via web browser, iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, for interactive 3D review (nondiagnostic in the case of mobile devices).
iNtuition Cloud can be purchased as a service on a per-study, volume-based, or concurrent-user basis. Current iNtuition Unlimited customers can purchase discounted access to the iNtuition Cloud service as an extension to their existing unlimited contract. An evaluation account can be accessed at the company’s website.
