Medical imaging and PACS monitor manufacturer Barco Display Systems of Kortrijk, Belgium, has agreed to acquire graphics board supplier Metheus of Beaverton, OR. Terms were not released. Metheus has been providing Barco with customized medical imaging boards since 1997. Barco will continue to market and sell existing and future Metheus product lines, according to the company.

The management team of Metheus, as well as its 40 associates in the U.S. and U.K., will remain in place. Metheus had 1998 revenues of $9 million and is profitable, according to Barco. Its medical operations will be integrated into the Imaging Systems division of Barco Display Systems, which is headed up by division manager Jean-Pierre Paret. Its products will be sold worldwide by the sales organization of Barco Display Systems.
