Canon Medical Slated to Unveil FDA-Cleared 4D CT System at RSNA

Geared toward interventional radiologists, the Alphenix 4D CT with Aquilion One/Insight Edition combines angiography capabilities with advanced features in computed tomography.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted 510(k) clearance for the Alphenix 4D CT with Aquilion One/Insight Edition system, a hybrid angiography/CT platform that will be showcased at the annual Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference.

The combination of the Alphenix Sky+ angiography system with the Aquilion One/Insight Edition system enables diagnostic assessments, treatment planning and treatment to occur in one room with one system, according to Canon Medical, the developer of the Alphenix 4D CT with Aquilion One/Insight Edition platform.

Canon Medical noted that key attributes of the Alphenix 4D CT with Aquilion One/Insight Edition system include:

• full organ coverage with ultra-fast cross-sectional imaging and a wide-area detector;

• a high-definition flat panel detector with 76 µm pixel technology for angiography;

• enhanced deep learning reconstruction; and

• AI-enabled workflow enhancements.
