Mahwah, NJ-based DOBI Medical Systems has signed Ultramed, a major South American medical equipment distributor, to handle the sale of its Dynamic Optical Breast Imaging System (DOBI) ComfortScan in Panama and Colombia. ComfortScan is designed for use in conjunction with x-ray-based mammography systems. It detects angiogenesis as a means for differentiating malignant and benign tumors. DOBI Medical is seeking FDA approval of the system as an adjunct to mammography.
