the Haifa company's acquisition of the Elscintec ultrasound business

of Elscint, an Elbit subsidiary. Elbit proposed the acquisition

late last year (SCAN 12/27/95). Elbit continues to study a plan

to spin off Elbit into three separate firms, including one that

would consolidate the healthcare operations of Elbit and Elscint.
