The ultrasound business is part of the Italian Bracco Group, best known as a provider of contrast media for x-ray, MR, and ultrasound procedures. The Technos MPX system made its first RSNA show appearance this year, although the product had been released in the U.S. some eight months earlier.
- Ergonomics tops the list of selling points for this multispecialty unit designed to support vascular, cardiac, musculoskeletal, abdominal, and obstetrics imaging. Advanced diagnostic tools include 3D and extended field-of-view.
- A digital beamformer, harmonic imaging, and Doppler are standard. Transducers provide frequencies ranging from 2 to 14 MHz.
- A biopsy transducer is configured with a needle through the transducer's center, providing a 0° angle.
