Italian biomedical firm Esaote of Genoa has completed its acquisition of Pie Medical from Philips Medical Systems of Best, the Netherlands (SCAN 2/4/98). Pie paid $21.3 million for Pie, which is based in Maastricht, the Netherlands, and specializes in low-end ultrasound scanners. Pie will continue to supply Philips with ultrasound products for the next three years under a newly signed OEM agreement.
