Only months after signing a distribution agreement with Swissray International, Hitachi Medical Systems America has sold three of Swissray’s ddR Multi-Systems, the Twinsburg, OH, company said. One unit was sold to Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, and two were sold to Riddle Memorial Hospital, of Media, PA.

Hitachi and Swissray in August signed a deal that gave Hitachi one-year, exclusive rights to provide sales, marketing, and service for ddR Multi-System (SCAN 9/1/99). The alliance gives both firms a boost: Hitachi gains an FDA-cleared digital x-ray product, and Swissray gains access to Hitachi’s sales network.
