ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- (HIMSS Conference & Exhibition) -- Kryptiq Corp. announced today that it has released a new Web portal designed to improve communication between physicians and their patients. CareCatalyst(TM) is the first secure online system specifically designed to complement the daily workflow of physicians and their staff. CareCatalyst integrates with electronic medical record and practice management systems and automatically updates patients' online interactions in real-time to ensure the most up-to-date information is available at the point of care at all times.
CareCatalyst provides patients online access to their personal health information, as well as 24-hour access to online services, such as appointment scheduling, eVisits, bill payment, referral requests, and prescription renewals. The solution is aimed at strengthening patient-physician communication and optimizing the clinics' workflow to improve the portability of patient records, reduce clinic dependency on the phone, increase staff efficiency, improve delivery of care to patients and provide patients direct access to their personal health records.

CareCatalyst functions as a stand-alone Web presence for a clinic or it can be added as a secure area of an existing Web site. It supports customization, configuration, and content administration without complex programming. Most significantly, CareCatalyst allows structured patient data created from online interactions to be stored directly in the patient's chart in the EMR. At GreenField, for example, the staff still has to manually cut and paste lab results from the EMR to forward them to patients or consulting physicians. Arena stated that CareCatalyst will allow the GreenField physicians to send labs and other clinical information directly from the EMR using secure email, making the communication process much more efficient.
