Internet platform provider Medicity is making its MediTrust security program available as a stand-alone product for healthcare customers. Integrated into the Medicity Internet platform, MediTrust was designed to create a secure environment in which physicians, hospitals, practice groups, and labs can exchange patient records and other sensitive data. It allows a user to establish a secure connection from any computer with access to the Internet, including personal digital assistants (PDAs). The Medicity platform is designed to give physicians an Internet desktop, accessible via a single login, that ties together all of the electronic resources specific to their practice, including lab data, office communications, third-party ASP offerings, and practice-specific content.
