Siemens Medical Systems is partnering with storage provider StorageTek to integrate its products into Siemens’ radiology and cardiology PACS product lines. The partners will provide both service and support for medical image and data archival systems. Additionally, the firms will offer customers the ability to share and integrate a patient’s historical record from multiple departments within a facility and thus reduce the overall storage costs. The deal is the latest in a series of high-profile partnerships for StorageTek, which recently announced similar agreements with Agfa, Kodak, and Philips Medical Systems (HNN 1/10/01).
