The total number of people attending the November RSNA meeting remained steady at about 60,000, while the number of international attendees grew to nearly 30%.

Although a breakdown by country was not available, the RSNA provided interpretation services in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. The society requires that scientific presentations be delivered in English.

According to the RSNA, 1672 scientific papers (oral presentations and posters) were presented, of which 1067 were international. Both are record numbers.

Six-hundred and seventy technical exhibits were linked and powered by more than 50 miles of fiber-optic cable and electrical wire. The two largest booths were GE Medical Systems and Siemens Medical Systems. GE claimed its booth was approximately 20,000 square feet, the size of eight or 10 three-bedroom homes. One news report put the number of GE employees attending at 200.
