Siemens promotes all-digital all the time

The concept of all-digital hospitals may be coming into vogue. Siemens announced Jan. 31 a multiyear strategic partnership with HealthSouth to create a totally integrated, all-digital, and completely automated hospital. Siemens will provide healthcare IT applications and infrastructure, medical equipment, telecommunications, and "smart" building technologies for the HealthSouth Medical Center in Birmingham, AL, where construction crews broke ground December 2001.
