The ultrasound division of Siemens Medical Solutions has agreed to provide the engine of its Sonoline Antares ultrasound system to U-Systems for integration into that company's full-field breast ultrasound system. The system, which will utilize U-Systems' transducer and image display technologies, will complement x-ray mammography by providing ultrasound images of the whole breast. It is being designed to support high-volume, cost-effective ultrasound imaging for women with dense breasts.
