Sterling Diagnostic Imaging's efforts to compete in the PACS market are meeting with success. The Greenville, SC, vendor has landed its second large-scale Canadian PACS site, at Region 3 Hospital Corporation in New Brunswick, Canada. Although Region 3 officials were reluctant to quantify the cost of the purchase, they did say that they have invested roughly $1 million (U.S.) in the technology, including the iiLinx printer network that serves as the foundation for the PACS network. Region 3 joins another Canadian Sterling PACS customer, Atlantic Health Sciences (AHSC) of Saint John, also in New Brunswick. AHSC signed a multimillion-dollar contract with Sterling in April (SCAN 4/16/97).
