X-ray vendor Swissray International of Hitzkirch, Switzerland has begun the first deliveries on a $40 million contract to supply bucky-table x-ray systems to Philips Medical Systems of Best, the Netherlands. Swissray is supplying Philips with its Bucky Diagnost TS system, which Philips is distributing worldwide under its own label.

Swissray announced last year that it had landed a $40 million order for conventional x-ray systems from a major medical imaging OEM (SCAN 7/17/96), but waited until last week to identify its partner as Philips. The companies expect to sell as many as 500 Bucky Diagnost TS systems a year, for a total value of $40 million over the next four years.
