The German Bergmannstrost Hospital, a trauma center in Halle/Saale near Leipzig, has upgraded its Agfa RIS/PACS. In 2003, the hospital's RIS/PACS integration project was nominated for the eEurope Award for eHealth of the European Commission.
Also in Germany, the Franz von Prummer clinic in Bad Bruckenau is replacing its PACS with a new system from VEPRO. More than half of first-time PACS purchases have to be replaced within three years, according to the vendor.
