Two x-ray contrast media sold by Amersham Health are now available in unbreakable bottles that are smaller and lighter than their glass equivalents. Omnipaque and isosmolar Visipaque are being packaged in the polymer bottles, which the company describes as being less vulnerable to accidents and easier to store. The new bottle and its contents have a three-year shelf-life. Both agents are also available in traditional glass bottles.
