Advanced Technology Laboratories of Bothell, WA, has signed a

technology transfer and distribution agreement with a Chinese

ultrasound manufacturer for ATL's mid-range Apogee 800 Plus ultrasound

scanner. Under the terms of the deal, ATL will transfer Apogee

800 Plus technology to Shantou Institute of Ultrasonic Instruments

(SIUI). SIUI will manufacture and sell the systems for the China

market, with shipments targeted for the second half of next year.

ATL will continue to manufacture Apogee 800 Plus for all other

international markets. ATL's HDI 3000 high-end scanner is sold

in China by Ultronics Enterprise.
