CT Triage Software Garners NTAP Reimbursement from CMS for Inpatient Medicare Beneficiaries

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has granted approval for a New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP) for use of the CARE Multi-Triage CT Body software, which has 14 FDA-cleared indications.

Aidoc, the manufacturer of the CARE Multi-Triage CT Body software, said the NTAP reimbursement will be available starting on October 1, 2026 for application of the software in cases involving inpatients with Medicare fee for service plans.

For 11 of the software’s indications that were cleared by the FDA earlier this year, Aidoc noted a 97 percent mean sensitivity and a 98 percent mean specificity.¹ The company also emphasized recently published research, which showed that over 50 percent of acute cross-sectional abdominal imaging takes place in inpatient and emergency department settings.²
