Long-time systems integrator DeJarnette Research has developed MediShare IQ Lite, an HL7/DICOM connectivity engine that improves the workflow of PACS, RIS, and HIS products. The software-based product links RIS/HIS and the PACS imaging network. With the MediShare IQ Lite, patient information can be connected to patient images captured during radiology exams, thereby eliminating errors due to manual data entry, according to the company. MediShare IQ Lite consists of a configurable external records interface (ERI) and a DICOM Worklist Management module. The ERI receives patient data from a RIS/HIS and maps these data into a DICOM Worklist Management message. The DICOM message can then be sent to modalities where the patient data are matched with images.
