First Consulting Group has joined forces with networking firm Cisco Systems and Dell Computer to further efforts to offer complete e-solutions to its healthcare customers. Long Beach, CA-based FCG has reorganized its existing e-health strategic consulting and Internet technology-based services into a single e-health business unit, the eHealth@FCG Group. The new unit will handle e-health strategy; e-health solutions selection, implementation and integration; e-health custom Web design and development; e-health infrastructure development; and e-health legacy system integration. FCG vice president Stephen ODell will become managing director of eHealth@FCG.
FCG decided to create eHealth@FCG in response to the growing client need for dedicated e-healthcare professional consulting services as the healthcare industry moves increasingly into e-commerce. It believes that the services provided by the new group could contribute as much as $100 million in annual revenues within three years.
