The announcement came hard on the heels of the news that the company had sold an electron-beam computed tomography scanner to a medical center in Ankara, Turkey.
The company will also have an office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to cover the Middle East and Africa.
Imatron has been riding a wave of record sales and media attention for its EBCT technology, but the company's stock has been languishing at or below the $2 a share level, joining other Nasdaq companies in the doldrums.
