Imatron announced it has established a direct sales office in Cologne, Germany, to support sales in Central Europe.

The announcement came hard on the heels of the news that the company had sold an electron-beam computed tomography scanner to a medical center in Ankara, Turkey.

The company will also have an office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to cover the Middle East and Africa.

Imatron has been riding a wave of record sales and media attention for its EBCT technology, but the company's stock has been languishing at or below the $2 a share level, joining other Nasdaq companies in the doldrums.
