Ultrafast CT developer Imatron of South San Francisco, CA, reportedlast week that it has received an order for 10 of its scannersfrom its Japanese distributor, Imatron Japan. The order includesan option to purchase six additional scanners. Imatron will delivera minimum of five systems a year in 1997 and 1998.

The order will add to the 19 ultrafast CT scanners Imatron Japanhas already sold in that country since its formation in 1994 asa joint venture between Imatron and two Japanese companies. Imatronhas a 24% interest in Imatron Japan.
