John C. Parmigiani Joins QuickCompliance as Senior Vice President for Consulting Services

Parmigiani as Senior Vice President for Consulting Services. Mr. Parmigiani is a widely-acknowledged expert in all aspects of HIPAA Administrative Simplification and, in particular, HIPAA Security. This appointment goes hand-in-hand with the creation by QuickCompliance of series of free monthly webinars on HIPAA Security. In this new role, Mr. Parmigiani will oversee the delivery of HIPAA Security compliance services as well as related security and compliance issues that affect other industries involved in electronic commerce.

Mr. Parmigiani has over 30 years experience in information systems management in both the public and private sectors. As the former National Practice Director for Regulatory and Compliance Services for CTG HealthCare Solutions and the Practice Director for Compliance Programs for Healthcare Computing Strategies, his focus has been on helping the healthcare industry become compliant with healthcare regulations, in particular HIPAA, and move toward e-health. In that capacity, he was responsible for directing and implementing HIPAA compliance solutions in a variety of healthcare client environments.

In the public sector, Mr. Parmigiani was the former Director of Enterprise Standards for the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), now the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS); he had responsibility for agency- wide information systems policy, system security, and Paperwork Reduction Act activities. Relevant to HIPAA, he was the chairman of the government-wide HIPAA Administrative Simplification Security and Electronic Signature Standards Implementation Team and was closely involved in the development of national policy for electronic health care information security and privacy.
