Shimadzu will distribute Marconi Medical Systems’ multislice CT products in Japan, while continuing to market its own CT product line. The two companies also signed a two-year extension of their agreement that has Shimadzu distributing

Shimadzu will distribute Marconi Medical Systems’ multislice CT products in Japan, while continuing to market its own CT product line. The two companies also signed a two-year extension of their agreement that has Shimadzu distributing Marconi’s nuclear medicine systems in Japan.

Although Shimadzu will market and distribute the products, they will be labeled with the Marconi name.

The relationship began 10 years ago when Marconi was known as Picker International. Last year, Shimadzu added Marconi MR systems to its own product line, which includes x-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound systems.
