Medical technology firm MedAmicus has signed an agreement with Schick Technologies to distribute that firm's accuDEXA bone densitometer (SCAN 4/15/98). MedAmicus, of Plymouth, MN, will add accuDEXA to its line of diagnostic testing products it sells to physicians' offices. The company will price the densitometer at under $13,000, with shipments expected to begin by the end of April.
In other Schick news, the Long Island City, NY, company reported on April 14 that it expects revenues for its fourth quarter (end-March) to be between $12 million and $13 million. The figures are much higher than the $5.4 million in sales Schick recorded in the same period last year, but are short of expectations due to the late delivery of components from a supplier, which prevented Schick from fulfilling orders worth between $2 million and $3 million. The delays have been resolved, and the products should ship in its first fiscal quarter, according to Schick.
