Picker International of Cleveland announced last month the purchase of Technology Management Group, a supplier of medical imaging equipment service parts, particularly parts for MRI scanners from several vendors. The deal continues a Picker buying spree that began early this year with the purchase of USI International of Milwaukee and Pacific X-Ray of Portland, OR (SCAN 2/17/99). Purchasing TMG gives Picker access to TMG's repair expertise, while TMG gains access to Picker's distribution network.

Winston-Salem, NC-based TMG will continue to operate as a stand-alone company and will supply service parts to clients such as independent service organizations, in-house clinical engineering departments, multivendor service providers, and asset management companies. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
