Medical supply distributor PSS World Medical has promoted several executives. Thomas Hixon has been named president and COO. He comes to the Jacksonville, FL-based company from his position as chairman and CEO of Gulf South Medical Supply, which was purchased late last year by PSS World Medical (SCAN 12/17/97).
President and CEO of the firm's Physician Sales and Service division, John Sasen, has been named executive vice president and chief marketing officer of PSS World Medical. Also, executive vice president and CFO David Smith has added responsibility for business development, negotiation of strategic alliances, and investor relations due to the merger with Gulf South Medical.
