The legal battle between Medical Imaging Centers of America anda dissident shareholder group continued this month when the group,Steel Partners II of New York City, filed a lawsuit to dismissMICA's poison pill defense. Steel Partners claimed that the defenseis unfair to shareholders, while San Diego-based MICA respondedby stating that the lawsuit is without merit.

The legal jousting occurred as the deadline approached fora special shareholder meeting that Steel Partners called in aneffort to overthrow MICA's board (SCAN 2/14/96). That meetingwas scheduled to take place Feb. 26.
