Swiss x-ray manufacturer Swissray reported last month that ithas opened a U.S. sales and marketing office in Azusa, CA, tosupport its entry into the U.S. market. The company said the officewill help it coordinate U.S. sales, as well as facilitate theselection of a joint venture or merger partner in the U.S.

Swissray is preparing for the U.S. introduction of AddOn-Bucky,a detector based on charge-coupled device (CCD) technology fordigitizing x-rays (SCAN 12/13/95). Swissray is selling AddOn-Buckyin 40 countries and plans to begin U.S. shipments in 1997, afterFDA clearance is received.
