Medical device firm UltraGuide this month brought its UltraGuide 1000 ultrasound-guided interventional procedure tool to market. The Israeli firm developed the device for biopsies and treatments of abdominal organs and breast interventions, as well as cardiology, ob/gyn, and prenatal procedures. The device was cleared by the Food and Drug Administration in February of last year and is priced at about $45,000 (SCAN 6/24/98).
