Varian said it was attracted to the business due to its work in solid-state NMR, which Varian has not emphasized until now. Varian said it would continue to operate the business in its Ft. Collins, CO, facility. Otsuka Electronics sold its clinical MRI business to Elscint in 1995 (SCAN 12/14/94).
