Siemens Medical Solutions has joined Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) as a principal equity member. GHX is an Internet-based trading exchange intent on building an industry-standard catalog from which hospitals can purchase both medical and nonmedical products. Equity members include GE Medical Systems, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, and Tyco International. Joining GHX complements Siemens’ e-business strategy, which is directed at providing the healthcare community with online training and consulting, ASP solutions, new ways to purchase equipment and supplies, remote equipment management, and health management tools.
