Hewlett-Packard, 3M and Cemax-Icon last week announced the formationof a technology sharing and development alliance for electronicmedical image management. Under the alliance, Cemax-Icon of Fremont,CA, will concentrate on applications development while HP, ofPalo Alto, CA, and 3M, of St. Paul, MN, will deal with hardware,service and sales.

Alliance customers will be offered HP 9000 servers and workstations.Other customer offerings include an account-management systemcomprising HP, Cemax-Icon and 3M sales teams. The companies willalso offer one-stop support by HP for multivendor hardware maintenance.
