GE and Hitachi came out on top in a competition to sell open MR scanners to Novation. The company, which supplies VHA and the University HealthSystem Consortium, has signed the vendors to a three-year supply agreement that began Jan. 1. It is expected to generate $24 million in annual sales for GE Medical Systems and Hitachi Medical Systems under terms that provide $1.5 million in annual savings for VHA and UHC members.
