Oklahoma City-based Oncology Data Systems has struck a nonexclusive distribution agreement with Varian Medical Systems to provide independent monitor unit validation software to radiation oncology clinics. The products can be used to validate calculations made by Varian's radiation oncology treatment planning software. Such verification is legally mandated. These products can help clinics automate the independent verification that they must put in place, according to Oncology Data Systems. MuCheck verifies 2D and 3D treatment plans. IMRT Check verifies IMRT treatment plans. Both are compatible with Varian's Eclipse and Helios treatment planning software products.
