Alton Memorial Hospital of Alton, IL, has purchased ScImage's Enterprise PACS solution, PICOMEnterprise, to support its enterprise-wide digital imaging initiative.

The hospital intends to implement the technology in multiple phases, beginning with cardiac catheterization imaging, echocardiograph reporting, and ECG management for cardiology services. ScImage's experience in providing portable access to point-of-care features for cardiology was a key factor in the selection, according to the hospital administration. The second phase of the project, which will begin in the next several months, will connect all modalities in the hospital's medical imaging department and integrate the existing radiology information system with the PACS.
