Updated 3D Ultrasound Tomography Device Offers Enhanced Software for Breast Imaging Reconstruction
The updated version 4.5.0. software for the Breast Acoustic CT platform reportedly facilitates improved spatial resolution in reflection imaging and enhanced capabilities for imaging of small breasts and breasts with implants.
New software for the Breast Acoustic CT device provides multiple features for improved visualization and tissue characterization for breast imaging assessments.
Emphasizing the use of optimized and spatially varying deconvolution in reflection imaging reconstruction,
"The enhanced reflection images represent a meaningful improvement in image quality and usability. Combining reflection with speed of sound information provides additional insight that was not previously available from reflection imaging alone," said John Tentinger, MD, the president and chief executive officer of Innovative Radiology, a radiology center in West Des Moines, Iowa.
QT Imaging said other key features with the 4.5.0. software include improved assessment capability for evaluating fibroglandular tissue composition in women with breast implants, and enhanced image reconstruction for small breasts.
