The Department of Veterans Affairs has contracted with Varian Medical Systems to purchase radiotherapy systems for its network of medical centers. Covered by the renewable VA contract are Varian’s Smartbeam IMRT (intensity modulated radiation therapy) system and accessories, Clinac medical linear accelerators, Ximatron treatment simulators, and multileaf collimators. Varian products also include brachytherapy systems, imaging systems, and software for the planning, treatment, and management of patient information.
