Advanced Visual Systems this week announced the formation of a

medical products group to focus the company's efforts in marketing

image visualization development tools in medical imaging. AVS,

of Waltham, MA, develops software that allows clinicians and OEMs

to create applications such as 3-D image viewing. AVS has 17 medical

imaging OEMs, including ADAC Laboratories, which used the company's

AVS/Express product to develop its MacroVision and ProVision utilities

for creating nuclear medicine imaging applications.
