Edge Medical Devices will feature its Universal Retrofit Kit for digital radiography novel flat-panel touch-screen console for digital radiography at RSNA 2009next week. The Quix Retrofit Kit will be featured as an affordable, turnkey upgrade for any new or existing equipment x-ray equipment. The kit can be used to build single- or dual-detector configurations. It upgrades tables, wall stands, U-/C-arm and other positioning devices for DR. Part of this upgrade is the plasma touch-screen Quix Operator Console, which can be used to drive DR workflow, as well as image processing, export, printing and storage. The company hopes to tap into what executives believe is an enormous pent-up demand, particularly in Europe and Asia, for a low-cost DR retrofit. A goal of the company at the RSNA meeting is to attract value added resellers, integrators and OEMs, so as to build worldwide distribution of the retrofit kit.
