Italian biomedical firm Esaote of Genoa reported 1998 financial results last month, boasting consolidated net sales of $201.2 million, up 25% from 1997's $161.1 million. Esaote's increased net sales include revenues from ultrasound firm Pie Medical, which Esaote bought from Philips Medical Systems last year (SCAN 4/29/98). Esaote also posted robust international sales of $121.5 million, up 42% from $85.5 million in 1997. The company's international revenues accounted for 60% of its total sales.
